An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gzAfter reformatting my hard disk, i cant connect to the internet...any advice how to fix it?
Internet Explorer, Internet Options, Connections Tab, LAN Settings, tick Automatically Detect Settings.
This could be several things.

Easiest: If this is a work network, you may need to enter a proxy server in Internet Explorer. Check the working computer by going into IE and going to Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Connections %26gt; LAN Settings. Make sure both computer have the same setting.

Harder: if this is a home network, do you use DSL? do you use cable? Perhaps your PC has software on it to dial into the DSL. Maybe your cable internet requires software as well?
